Pick up a copy of El Sol Latino or download a PDF version here (16 pages). In the September issue, editor Manuel Frau Ramos explains that instead of endorsing individual candidates, El Sol will instead do as much as it can to raise awareness about the issues and candidates, and mobilize the Latino community regionally to get engaged and vote in record numbers:
“…with our different analysis of the information, we seek to promote the participation of Latinos in the political process. This increase in political participation, in turn, should bring about changes that can help diversify the region’s political leadership for it to refl ect our changing demographic reality.”
The Springfield Institute is taking a similar approach.
