Women’s funding up, new hope for underserved priorities

Picture 1

Domestic violence, universal pre-K, teen pregnancy, and FGM (female genital mutilation) are all priorities for women in this region that are not getting the attention they need. (Click on “Women & girls” category to the right to see our coverage of these issues regionally.) But this may change. A new report from the Foundation Center and the Women’s Funding Network (press release here, actual 50-page study here) shows funding specifically for women and girls up 223% since 1990 (compared to 177% for funding overall).
