Yesterday’s Republican teases us with some “initial findings” from a forthcoming MassInc/UMass Dartmouth Urban Initiative report that apparently shows that there are good city jobs, but that Springfield schools can’t produce qualified applicants for them. Only 17% of residents have college degrees–putting the city just ahead of Flint, Michigan (made infamous by the Michael Moore movie). The report is expected to be released in April, with some community events to coincide. We’ll provide more info here as it becomes available.
